1945 – 2022

Truella May Stone passed away suddenly on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was born in Spokane to Audrey and Harold Williams on October 5, 1945. She attended Adams elementary and Freeman high school. Truella and her late husband, Ray Stone, started Moran Fence in 1979 and she continued to successfully run the business after his death, in 1985, at a time when it was difficult for a woman to succeed in business on their own. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and employer and will be missed dearly.

Truella loved animals and was known for bringing treats to all the dogs around the neighborhood where she walked almost daily. She also kept a bin of feed out for the deer, squirrels, birds, and any other creatures that ventured nearby. At the time of her death, she was still working full time at Moran Fence and spent her days off gardening in her huge, well-loved yard. On the weekends she enjoyed going to estate and yard sales with her daughters.

Truella is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Corena and Jerry Stretch, Tammy and Gregory Garves, and Shannon and Doug Tegge. She is also survived by her dear friend Tim Granlund, two siblings Albert and Lucille Williams, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Truella was preceded in death by her brothers, Zane and Eldon Williams.

Per her request, there will be no formal funeral service however, the family will be holding a celebration of Life on Thursday, June 16th at 2:30 p.m. and all are welcome. Please contact one of her family members for more details.
