CrossFit’s Ongoing Efforts in Lockdown

CrossFit’s reality right now can be summarized in a few short key phrases: COVID-19, social distancing, masks, essential businesses, and gym closures. Nothing about it is ideal, and many have found a way to make this into a partisan moment in history.

Good morning and welcome to the WODDITY podcast for news about CrossFit. We are a daily podcast, Monday through Friday, doing CrossFit news in five minutes or less.

Somebody typoed the last time they were in Ikea and now I get weekly emails that start with, “Hello Hen!”

My name is Ben Garves and today is Friday, the 22nd of May, 2020. Don’t forget, links to all of these stories are in the show notes of your friendly neighborhood podcasting app, as well as on the new WODDITY.com.

Short episode for you today, because the majority of the news is more gyms closed, more gyms opening illegally, and more people arguing over who is right. So here’s what I’m going to do. So CrossFit shared a video this week breaking SLIPS down into more manageable elements.

How to make a homemade sandbag

What else does CrossFit have going on? Well, they shared a do-it-yourself video from CrossFit Headquarters Seminar Staff member Dan Hollingsworth. Dan is a Level 4 trainer and owner of Kitsap CrossFit. In this video, he shows you how to go about making a homemade sandbag using common household items in just about five minutes.

And to close things out, CrossFit continues with their efforts to hold an elite individual CrossFit Games competition in Aromas this August. Here, with audio courtesy of CrossFit Inc., are words from Dave Castro on a video titled “The Test”.
