We’re back with another ultimate guide to Sanctionals! These detail which Sanctionals have replaced your favorite CrossFit Games Regionals events. On the menu for today? The CrossFit Europe Regional!
This guide gives you a breakdown of CrossFit’s 2019 and 2020 Sanctional events in Europe. We’ve divided our guides into the markets which served CrossFit Regional events. Bookmark this guide, and we’ll keep it updated when Sanctional news comes out.
Remember, the 2018 CrossFit Open fed into regional events. This changes in 2019: there are no more CrossFit Regionals.
- The CrossFit Games Open 2019 event feeds right into the CrossFit Games.
- Athletes won’t have to make a CrossFit Regionals 2019 appearance.
- Because of changes at CrossFit, CrossFit Regionals Events are now sanctioned qualifiers. CrossFit has coined the term “Sanctionals”.
These changes allow CrossFit to keep higher engagement in the CrossFit Open. At the same time, they no longer pay the higher cost of the Reebok CrossFit Regionals. Without the CrossFit Games Regionals 2019 season, CrossFit has reclaimed some lost cash.
Replacing the Berlin CrossFit Regional’s 2018 event are many 2019 and 2020 Sanctionals. Europe benefits greatly from these changes, jumping to seven Sanctional events by 2020.
